Equip India Training Ignites Church Growth and Renewed Vision in Sri Lanka
NUWERA ELIYA & COLOMBO, SRI LANKA - Pastors
in Sri Lanka are witnessing renewed hope and growth in their congregations
following evangelism training provided by Equip India.
Pastor Periyasami of Hosanna Garden Church in Nuwera
Eliya sought guidance, driven by a New Year's resolution to bring five new
people to his church's 150 members. He contacted a partner in Tamil Nadu, South
India, leading to a two-day workshop at his church. Sixty-five individuals,
including leaders from ten outreach centers, were equipped to share their faith
and train others. The immediate impact was significant, with 104 people hearing
the Gospel during outreach, 53 accepting Christ, and six new attendees at the
church the following Sunday.
Meanwhile, near Colombo Airport, Pastor Karunaharan of
Smyrna Church and his family were considering relocating due to limited church
growth after several years of ministry. However, attending Witness Without Fear
(WwF) training and interacting with Equip India helped them reconsider their
plans. As their small group leaders actively shared the Gospel and guided
individuals to Christ, Pastor Karunaharan himself used the Gospel outline to
witness to a man on his way to a bar. These positive developments encouraged
the pastor and his family to continue their work among the Sinhalese people in
their area, trusting for future growth.
These testimonies highlight the empowering effect of
Equip India's training in Sri Lanka. It provides practical tools and a renewed
vision for pastors and church members to effectively share their faith and
witness church growth in their communities. These successes serve as
encouragement to continue expanding this training to more regions.
